The Martial Arts from east to west . . . Who, where, how, why and when ?

– Why do we see such a strong growing presence of Asian martial arts and Eastern mysticism in our culture over the last 30 years ?
– What has been the influence and effect of these Eastern mystical arts upon the last two generations ?
– Does the study of martial arts really lead to a more “disciplined” and “spiritual ” way of life, as is being promoted by the media today ?
Today, Martial Arts schools, Yoga classes, and Tai-chi seminars have become main
-stream in almost every American home. No longer are these eastern mystical practices considered esoteric, or reserved for only a chosen few. Everywhere we can see the steady spread and influence of these once classified and secret arts.
Children, ages 5 to 12 are being shuttled to after-school programs at the local karate dojo, or Tae-kwon-do club. Athletes in high school and college programs are being encouraged to enroll and participate in various
styles of “s
elf-defense” in order to increase heightened physical power and mental awareness. House wives and soccor moms are retreating to local Tai-chi and Yoga studios, with the promise of revitalizing their youth, increasing flexibility, and regaining health and ‘personal empowerment’.
Business professionals and executives are being trained in eastern philosophies, through internal arts such as Aikido, and Qigong, for ‘stronger focus,’ business strategy, and stress management. With more than 30,000 martial art schools across the USA alone, and new studios opening every year; training 21.7 million practitioners; is it any surprise at the swelling tide of eastern religion and new age thought we are seeing flood the church.
But where did this all begin ?
And how did our country, once Christian in it’s beliefs, so readily
accept the spiritual practices of the far east ? Have the religions of
China, India, Okinawa and Japan been cleverly repack-aged in the west as “Family Fun”, Physical Fitness, Self-defense, Self-improvement, and Self-esteem ? John 8:32
Are the Martial Arts based purely on physical prowess and philosophy . . . or are they a religion ?
– What do the dragon, the phoenix, and the tiger represent which adorn the traditional martial art schools ?
– Why do the students bow when they enter the dojo, and before addressing an Instructor ?
– Who are the men, the images, the pictures and the symbols to which these martial artists show such adoration and reverance ?
– And why are students often required to remove their shoes upon entering the training floor ?
Now Learn the Truth . . .
The Roots of the Tree – All martial arts trace their roots back to the false religions and paganism of Asia. The idea that man has within himself the power and ability to become supra-human, and “godlike”. This was the very first deception with which Satan has blinded the human race. ref: Genesis 3:4-5
All the martial arts around the world have as their foundation and root, the Shaolin Temple of China. Shaolin was then, and is today a Buddhist temple. Their primary purpose is to evangelize and share Chan Buddhism and Taoism with the entire world.
Both of these religions teach that there is no personal God, that there is no single Almighty Divine Being, nor that He has a Son Who created, controls, and upholds all the universe by the Word of His power, and holding each of us accountable for the life He has freely given us !
They teach; that what is known as “god” by the western Christian world, is actually an energy force, or “great spirit”. And that through proper breathing techniques, meditation, mantras, spiritual exercises and life style, we may all become one with this ‘divine energy.’
This is Pantheism to it’s core. This is a counterfeit of the Truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Yehushua ha Moshiac). For in John 17:17-23, Jesus says that we may become one with The Father (Almighty God, Jehovah, Yehuwah), only through faith in the Life, death, sacrifice, and glorious resurrection of His Son; and through faith 
in the free Gift and promised Blessing of His indwelling Holy Spirit !
So, if the Buddhist, Taoist and Hindu believe that we can become
one with the universal energy or cosmos (their god), is it not also through the indwelling of a spirit ?
In the Chinese martial arts, Chi = breath = spirit
As martial artists, the power, control and demonstration of “Chi energy” is considered the highest ability. Therefore they train in meditation and breath control, in order to open the mind to the influence of the spirit world. A spirit of war instead of peace, a spirit of pride instead of humility, a spirit of works and self-justification rather than faith in the Only Begotten Son of the LORD God Almighty (Yehuwah Elohim).
When these spirits influence, control, and eventually enter the practitioner’s life; unbelievable and amazing feats, skills, and abilities may be performed by the martial artists. The spirits deceive us into believing that these “unnatural abilities” are ours alone! And that we may attain these “powers” through our own hard works and dedication to the arts. Little do most people realize, that it is the spirits that use them, and not the other way around.
In the Book of Revelation, chapter 16:14 and 18:2 we are told that in these last and final days of earth’s history, there will be the manifestation of miracle-working spirits (demons), which go forth to deceive the whole world. And that every man, woman, and child will either be filled with the Spirit of the Living God, or with the spirits of this world !
Martial & Magical Skills – As in any pagan religion, physical 
activities always lead to deeper “spiritual” truths. The Chinese martial arts and their asian counterparts are no stranger to this concept.
Students always begin with very basic, fundamental exercises, i.e. stances, footwork, kata, punching, blocking and kicking. As the student progresses in the control of his/her motor skills and balance, they are slowly introduced to the idea, and principles of breath control, 
and “internal” strength or power.
According to Eastern mysticism, breathing is both a physical and spiritual exercise. The ability to control ones breathing and respiration is used to enter an altered state of consciousness, or hypnosis. This then opens the door from the physical to the spirit world. Deep breathing and meditation are then presented to enhance one’s physical abilities. This is often being taught a a new form of ‘science’ or ‘metaphysics.’ It is a deadly mixture of ancient occult practices with scientific terminology attached.
With this new learned power, a punch is no longer “just a punch.” The masters of kung-fu teach that chi is like the batteries inside the toy. Chi is what creates real power. At Black belt level, most often, “internal” or “chi” training is used in the demonstration of breaking boards, bricks, ice and stone.
At the level of an experienced disciple or master (usually 5th – 6th dan), these skills begin to take on a more mystical/occult flavor. Along with these “special skills”, come those 
ideas and beliefs which are an integral part of the religions of the far east. All of these, Almighty God (Jehovah, Yehuwah) strictly forbids in His Word, and declares them as abominations, and counterfeits of the gifts of the Holy Spirit !
“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the ways of the heathen, and be not dsimayed at the signs of heaven (the zodiac); for the heathen are dismayed at them . . . And when thou art come into the land which the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) thy God (Elohim) giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations . . . for all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD . . . !” Jeremiah 10:2 & Deuteronomy 18:9-12.
These abilities include –
Iron Palm – Luke 10:19 these powers come only from Almighty God through His Spirit, or . . . or they are imparted through the influence of demons.
Iron Body – counterfeit of the gift given to Samson in judges ch. 14-16
Energy Healing – Matthew 10:7-8 counterfeits of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Clairvoyance – Acts 9:1-11 the Holy Spirit reveals the future according to the will of the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah).
Clairaudience – Acts 8:26-40 The Spirit of the LORD leads us, not we ourselves.
Telepathy – Matthew 9:4, 12:25 Only Jehovah God and His Son know our thoughts.

The Principles of Yin/Yang –
The Taoist doctrine of yin/yang has been adopted by the Buddhist, Hindu, New Age movement, and all Occultists. This deadly lie is even infiltrating every aspect of our modern western culture. The basic teaching of “Tao” or yin/yang is that light cannot exist without darkness, that positive cannot exist without negative, and that good cannot exist without evil !
The very premise of this ancient pagan philosophy contradicts the very nature of light, and the scientific laws which govern our universe. As noted by a renown scientist of the 20th century:
“You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat, or no heat; but we don’t have anything called ‘cold’. We can hit up to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that.
There is no such thing as cold ! otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.
You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units, because heat is energy.
Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, it is just the absence of it.”

The principle of yin/yang states that all things, good and evil are part of “Tao“. And that “tao” is the highest “force” and god of the universe. This “universal energy”, force or spirit is symbolized by the Chinese yin/yang. This symbol reveals the very nature of the “god” they serve. The doctrine of Taoism teaches that light is equal with darkness, positive 
is equal with negative, that good and evil are in reality the same, and that all things are “truth”, based on how you view them?
Eastern religions teach that all things extend from, and return to this force or spirit called “tao“. Therefore all things good and bad are part of this “universal energy”. And since they emanate and proceed from “tao” and tao is considered to be god, and dwells within them, all things are said to have divinity within themselves. Therefore nothing can be called “evil”, since it has “god” within, and is ” divine” itself, by nature. This idiology erases all absolutes.
This is the very same same lie, which are first parents were told by the serpent in the 
garden of Eden. “your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods . . .” Genesis 3:4-5
Taoism teaches that angels and demons are therefore just opposite sides of higher levels of energy, or intelligence in the universe. And that we as mortal human beings can through meditation, and “spiritual exercises” acheive the final evolution, and become like them; gods in the universe!
This is the very doctrine which Alister Crowley, an infamous occultist, rock n’ roll icon, and idol taught his disciples. “Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law “. He is known, even by secular sources as the most evil man of the 20th century!
We as Christians, and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ (Adoni Yehushua ha Moshiac), are thought of as bigots because we judge that something is right or wrong, good or evil, based on the Word of Almighty God. Taoism states; that nothing in and of itself can be good or bad, but rather it is only by the way in which it is used. And that all things are acceptable in moderation, and when kept in balance.
For example: homosexuality is not a “bad” or “evil” thing, it just must be kept in balance with other aspects of society, and within one’s own lifestyle. Taoism teaches that male = yang and female = yin. If you are a male in a relationship with another male lover, since the yin portion of your life is lacking, you must seek to achieve bal-ance through by eating more yin herbs and foods, by wearing more yin (feminine) colors and clothing. How perverse. This is an absolute lie !

The Secrets Behind Martial Arts ! 
I would like to say I was in a bad spot in life beat up and bullyied daily in school. I came home everyday with purple marks on my body. Teachers would do nothing, would even see and turn and walk away. I tried everything for years even therapy and they were even christian like me. I would ask myself why me what’s wrong with me. One day I had enough and looked for martial arts to defend myself. I found the hardest toughest class and the instructor taught teakwondo and he was a police officer also. Even though he taught me to fight he also taught me about Christ and brought me closer to God then I could have ever been on my own. I encounter my bullyies after a while of them leaving me alone because they heard that I was doing martial Arts and left me alone then, first they hit me I didn’t fight back instead I held my ground didn’t budge he fell because he was running to hit me. On the ground I could have hurt him but instead told him he wasn’t worth it that I could endure that I follow the Lord. So I turned and left knowing I had intended to fight but really Christ sent me to this man to find strength that I didn’t have to fight, and instead because of this instructor I found Christ really for the first time. Before I always went to church but this is how Christ found me so before you hate on martial arts remember blessed is the Lord he prepares my hands for battle and my fingers for war. That everything every principality and ever power is for the Lord and by the Lord. This world and everything on it is from the lord martial arts included.

We have no flesh and blood enemies. Fighting physically is not the way of Christ. Jesus says:

If you die fighting flesh and blood, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Martial Arts are a lie and are spiritually dangerous.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12, KJV
By reading this page I can see that so many people hold on to their pride and spiritualism at the cost of the truth. I pray Christ sets them free. So sad. So much delusion on the matter. This is not an easy teaching for those who want power and trust in themselves.

As someone that has undeniably felt the presence of God, and someonee that has a relationship with Christ, i have to put thus article in the biased folder. Also shame on thee that speaks of Satan (an angelic being) as one of terrible knivery. Please open your mind and energy that we as humans (or spiritual beings experiencing the human form,) CAN become godlike, if we open ourselves ta God, and let His voice that we resignate with steer us. There is never ever a reason ta say that we “Were” christian as if by expanding our livess with Asian Philosophies we somehow defect from our faith as believers of the Christian religeon.

It would seem all this hinges on the teaching of breathing. If the breathing part is taken out then there’s no altered state of consciousness.
I’m also a personal trainer and have friends that are firearm instructors. Breathing is very important for safe and effective lifting and a steady hand when shooting. Does that make those activities taboo?
There are lots of great points and I agree with the majority of this article but there seems to be a push for a forced push that just punchning and kicking can congruent demons…. is fencing demonic? Greco roman wrestling? Pole faulting? Gymnastics? Where do we draw the line? The line I draw is on intent.
Holy Communion, meditating on Jesus’ sacrifice as being the sacrificial lamb, the final sacrifice, symbolized in beead and wine in the Jewish holiday of the Passover. Now, if I go to Olive Garden and order wine with my bread sticks am I participating in Holy Communion??? No. The intent, the mediatation? The prayers aren’t there. Same with martial arts.
Now I would agree that specific breathing can alter your brain and body chemistry, but again the intent is what makes it dangerous. My dad play tennis. When he plays he breathes out forcefully when hitting ball just as I would when punching a bag or my sparing partner. Again the intent. If you’re visualizing energy swelling within you and released suddenly out of your body as in an energy wave meant to harm or destroy something beyond your natural abilities then yes, that is fringe and I believe if practiced with that intent a demon can come and attach to that and invoke that occultic activity that this article talks about.
Same for yoga. If I reach for my toes for a stretch like any running athlete does is that also demonic? No. But like a cooking recipe the majority of the ingredients must be there to get the desired results. The breathing, the poses, the mantras and the visualization all must be there together with intent. The breathing and the visualization are the two dangerous ones in my opinion. Our visualization of the mind can and does guide our spirit body into reaching out to something. If our imaginations are not reaching out to the Holy Spirit a demon can make contact and thus connect us with an occultic encounter.
Intent is everything.

The breathing has to do with meditation part etc and more are and will be decived you can’t do part evil and not be affected less effective maybe but it opens doors to hurt you more to it comes from a religion not God period that says enough symbols and bowing to you etc not biblical either we get it you like it others do it that don’t make it right and you got your scripture out of text using martial arts and for record that’s why Bruce Lee was in trouble with his country over teaching us so they used it now against us in our belief so we become them
I agree intent is everything. Every movement found in martial arts is found in our everyday lives. Some people don’t realize what the human mind and body are truly capable and some skills may look demonic simply took years to develop. Just like an Olympic champion. Chi for example simply means breath, wind, or spirit. According to the Chinese,Japanese martial arts it is what gives us life. Some Taoist arts called “Divine Breath.” We believe no chi no life. In the Bible it says God breathed the “breath of life” into Adam and he became of living soul. The Hebrew word here is Ruach. It means breath, wind, or spirit. Exactly the same definition as chi. Chi is simply God’s breath which we can’t live without. People try to make chi mystical but it isn’t. It is simply breath. You have to actively invite a spirit into your body in Asian martial arts to become possessed and gain powers. Most do not do this. Only the darker priests will do this. Martial arts can be practiced without this and become simply self defense or exercise. As my teacher once told me, you only attract demons if you sit around thinking or talking about them. Stop trying to attract them and focus “intent” on God while training. His spirit will protect you. If you’re faith isn’t strong enough then you need to get closer to God.
Intent means nothing to Satan. He does not play by your rules. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10, KJV). Satan has no rules. He will destroy at all cost and seize every opportunity (open door) to do so.
Actually breathing techniques not all bad.
In shooting, for example, there is empty lung technique. Also, deep breath to get a bit more relaxed.
You should see where the breathing techniques lead to.
If it, in period of training, brings you more to superhuman ability, spiritual awakening, or any other “magic” thingy, then you must stop enhancing the techniques.

Why do we go to school to read, why do doctors advice us to exercise, why do we eat food, why do we go to work, why do we learn hand craft . why can’t we just sit down and let the spirit of God walk for us. Am a Christian and a black belt in martial art. I did not see anything wrong to train your self to be strong and active. And to be able to defend your self from some brutality in this world we are. Am not disputing that God can save us and he should be our first savior. No! I have been practising karate for the past 20years and it never stop me from serving my God or diverted my attention to other spiritual means. I enjoy the game. It makes me fit strong, self confident, self control, respect others. And feed my self by training people. Mentioned but a few. May God almighty Help us. If we really trust I’m God’s sovereign. Protection and the angels he assigned to us we wouldn’t learn martial arts. Paul got jumped and didn’t use any fighting styles. He turned the other cheek. And Paul wrote most of the new testament. Our only enemies are demons. If I destroy someone made in God’s image. Doing the devil’s bidding. But in any case I know martial arts, and I regret ever having to use it as a last resort. The Lord told me this stuff is an idol in my life and many others.
For those misinformed people who say that all martial is all about fighting, i believe aikido (even if it uses internal power) must be OK cause it’s about finding harmony with your opponent, and is to be practiced with love and harmony even though half the time people can’t do it cause it’s too difficult. people find it easier to destroy than to control. This is something that the MMA/UFC people with their brute strength win-at-all-cost-mentality would never realize . O’Sensei (founder of aikido) said that the practise of aikido was to unite the world. How can an art of peace be about devil worshipping?
Read the book “The secret teachings of AIKIDO” and you’ll see how it is demonic (unless you are completely blinded). All they talk about in this book is connecting with spirits (4 main spirits), gods (not one God) there are detailed instructions of chanting, mantras, breathing techniques of inviting these spirits, names of these spirits and how to “correctly” say the sound of ommmm that Taoism and Buddhism is using for inviting these beings they call spirits or should I say meditation. And then it mentions about “entering the void”. Hmm where did I hear that before? Oh yes, in the cartoon series “The legend of Korra” where a leader of bad guys entered the void and became lighter than air and learned to fly. These cartoons are ALL about new age, new world order, Chakras and they openly use these terms.
I have aikido background and I thank Lord Jesus for opening my eyes. I see it all in a different light now and I can’t believe I fell for it.
Don’t forget that NWO is promoting peace and unity in the world but in reality it is the complete opposite, I mean look around you people! Setan is twisting everything around!

I’m reminded by something Jay Gluck wrote in Aikido Journal a couple years ago. There’s footage of Osensei tossing around some MP’s on a rooftop. At on point, they surround him, and when they come to get him, he just calmly walks past them. I love the still from this, because you see all these guys really obviously focussed on the center of their circle. But Osensei is casually standing off to one side. So Jay Gluck, who I believe was the camera operator, wrote that he showed this film to a missionary in Japan, who was put in mind of an episode in the New Testament when Jesus went to preach in His home town. In His usual way, He pretty much pissed off the locals, and they picked Him up and took Him out to the edge of town to dump Him off a cliff. Except when they got there, He just turned around and walked away. Apparently, Jay told this to Osensei, who said something along the lines of “of course. He was one with the divine and would have known Aikido instinctively.”
This is saying like Jesus is some guru or enlightened being like Buddha… the New Testament is not a television show with “episodes”. Its not Dragon Ball Z…
The Occult is always trying to work Jesus into their frames of view. And make Him into something other than the Son of God… he wasnt “one with the divine”. He WAS the divine.

He is commanding Joshua to meditate in God’s Word. Yet you say that all meditation is demonic. Please explain this to me. I want to understand where the basis of your conclusion is found.

Having trained in karate for over six years, i know that many of modern karates training methods make absolutely no sense unless you are a zen buddhist. When you train karate you are for instance told to stand in a stance called zen-kutsu-dachi. The old karate of Okinawa did not have this stance. The modern watered down version of karate is called Karate- do. Do means “way” or “way to (buddhist) enlightement”.
Karate is by far the most effective punching martial art average man can study. For more athletic people it`s boxing. During WW2 the japanese military used boxing to train the more athletic personell, but found that boxing is not as effective for training people of average athletic ability.
Later the american geniuses created kick- boxing from karate/tae-kwon-do and boxing. – A martial art less effective than boxing for self defense. Muay Thai is another form of kick- boxing. It was heavily modified in the 1970`s by an athletic commision, after Muay Thai loosing challenge matches to Kyokushinkai karate. It`s important to note that Kyokushinkai karate simply was a method of karate- do that believed in match fighting. Muay Thai is the greatest fighting style ever to be designed to defeat karate- do in match fighting. But serious training in Muay Thai requires above average athletic ability.

If spirit means breathing is there such an entity as a person(God)? Or is spirit energy? I used to be a serious christian, but questioning the christian doctrine has made me to hold my steps back, but I still consider some sayings of Jesus Christ:

(Romans 8:28).God may have a number of reasons why he allows difficulties and hardship to enter our lives, but it’s still all a part of his will working in our lives. Jesus also assured us how he will never leave us nor forsake us. With God in our lives and hearts, the enemy is powerless. Psalms 23: yes, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me . . .” So, it is that these eastern martial arts teachings and other Eastern religious philosophies only deliver enslavement, false security and false power which only lead to disappointment in the end. Anyone’s best bet is to trust in God and for his will in your life and not in these black arts, or so much as even be curious to try them for a fit in your life that will only lead to disaster. I appreciate this article because it was an enlightening one as I hope it will be for anyone who reads it.
Eric’s warning on the dangers of martial arts is true. I was a practitioner of Chinese martial arts and the amazing feats of power demonstrated by the masters always leave a question in my mind of where does this power come from. How is a man able to break a baseball bat with his head? How is it possible that my seniors can bend spears with their throats, break 2 bricks combined with his bare fist? Why is it that they squirm like snakes on the ground when practitising Hun Yuan Gong (a type of high level qigong)? How is it that I felt currents of electricity passing through my body from head to toe when I did Guo Lin Qi Gong? Where does all tis power come from? From God? or from Satan? I have stopped all practice of martial arts and qigong when I realise that this power is not of God. It is from Satan. I had to go through rituals of initiation before a portrait of a dead grandmaster before I was inducted. The uncontrolled squirming on the floor by my seniors is actual demon possession taking place. I urge all who are practising qigong and martial arts that require meditation to think on this – where does this power come from? The answer will dawn upon you when you see with the eyes of the Scripture. May God’s truth set you free!
I think and highly suggest you go back and read Proverbs 15 in its entirety. So much you obviously don’t know about the martial arts or self discipline my friend.

What do I say to christians who practiced karate and insist on believing that they did not do anything wrong, cause the real dangers are in martial arts? Does karate come from the same pagan roots? This is why you should steer clear from a McDojo. Not all martial arts incorporate religion together, some can be separated. Marine Corp is also a martial art for the military which also took some techniques for other various martial arts. I appreciate and understand this warning so God Bless you. However, if we apply your logic, our brave soliders in the military will have to stop practicing marine corp because it has its associations with other martial arts. And speaking of kinesiology, saying that it is demonic is another way of you telling me that I should stop my studies in Physical Therapy because it incorporates kinesiology. Know that when you are going to help others, do not trip while you are at it because what you commited first hand is a “genetic fallacy”. I too am a Christian mind you and martial arts is also by means man made which can be sorted out with normal means.

The “form” or “kata” which is said to be the technical basis of karate, is thought to be at least part of a “form” practiced by Boddidharma Siddartha Gautama. The 28th abbot of the Shaolin temple.
If this is martial arts legend or historical fact, I cannot confirm.
Karate is very much part of the martial arts descending form the Shaolin temple. Even if Anko Itosu and later Ginchin Funakoshi changed a lot of the old ways.
Question: The medical symbol is also shown in page 1. We know that the medical symbol also come from the greek gods and goddesses…… My question is….Should a Christian also avoid taking medicine and going to the doctor?

Food for thought . . . Our modern medical symbol actually comes from the pagan “staff of Asclepius” and also the “Caduceus.” If you look up the actual oath which is required by the medical practice here in the United States of America it will shock most people, at what it actually says . . .

It’s best just to learn the physical techniques and train and leave out all the occult baggage. Jacob “Wrestled” with an angel. Catch Wrestling / Submission Grappling / Gracie Jiu- Jitsu is great for sport competition and self defense.
Most Martial Arts do come with a lot of negative spiritual baggage though.

I love how people like to bash anything for its pagan roots when both Judaism and Christianity [and all the other religions that branch out from Judaism] have pagan roots themselves.
One of the greatest evils in the world is the attempt to impose one’s will over others. This relates to all aspects of life to include religion,politics,sexual preference ,morality etc. Self appointed “experts” on any subjects attack others and profess to be the sole authority on a subject matter. People are starting to do their own research by using a variety of documents and sources. It may be one of the reasons we see a lot of drift from organized religion in recent days. Anything can and will be used for good or evil. Religion caused more violence and evil than any known varieties of the martial arts of eastern or non eastern origin. Those who understand the true nature of these arts know that the greatest fight is within ourselves and our shortcomings. Mastery of the martial arts is not inflicting damage but avoiding it altogether.
This article, like most (white) Christians is based on fear of “the other.” Most Christians do not follow Jesus. Jesus taught “Judge not” and “love your neighbor as yourself.” Christians in the modern day are the most judgmental and fear driven people you will ever meet. They place themselves higher than others with this judgmental superiority complex that is totally fear driven. They are racist, homophobic, and every other kind of bigotry you can think of. Love is so far from them. They are so far from Jesus’ teachings, and is full of ego/Satan. They go around converting people from “the East” with violence. Is that what Jesus wanted? Man, it’s so twisted and upside down. Modern day white Christians have nothing to do with Jesus and his teachings. They only have violence in their mind.
The Son of Almighty God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, actually instructed each of us, as His followers . . . to “judge not, lest ye also be judged.” The original greek word used here in both Matthew 7:1 and also in Luke 6:37 is (G2919 – κρίνω krinō) which litterally means = to decide, to try, as in a court of law, to condemn, to damn, to pronounce sentence upon.
Our Saviour then tells us in John 7:24, that we are to “Judge not according to the appearance (outward, external) but judge righteous judgment !”
This means that when we seek to distiguish between what is right in God’s eyes, and what is wrong . . . we are to judge according to the only true standard, that is His Word.
I agree, that it should never be the purpose of any Christian to condemn others, regardless of the way in which they choose to live, but rather to seek with all of our hearts, to save men and women, from that which is sure to destroy them, and their chance of knowing God, and having eternal Life with our Saviour at His soon return !
But in order to distinguish what is right and that which is wrong in God’s eyes (good vs. evil), we must look to God’s Word.
And when seeking to help others, our goal should be in love . . . to warn them of the very real dangers of practices and life styles, which Satan seeks to cause them to believe are not going to hurt them.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven . . . against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness !” Romans 1:18-32 and also II Peter 3:3-13*
